That’s a question you’ll never have to ask again once you understand who Schizophrenia attacks, and what it does to them. Never mind the social & economic costs it imposes on us all. To put it in bare terms, think about the people you love, especially the young ones. Darling children who delight in their play as all children should, all the while oblivious to the danger that will continue to stalk them as long as the life destroying disease we call Schizophrenia is allowed run rampant. This single disease disables 100,000 young victims in the USA every single year, more than at any time before in history. It is hard to imagine a more cruel and frightful disease than one that strikes young people in the prime of life, to take away their futures by dramatically destabilizing them mentally. With 3 million people in all now suffering from the disease in the US, 1% of our nation’s population, it is the largest source of economic and social cost ever imposed upon any society by a single illness. And it impacts every taxpayer in the USA. As long as it is allowed to go unchecked it will continue to strike across all ethnic and gender lines, with no child that is approaching young adulthood safe from it. Schizophrenia is an evil that robs the innocent of their greatest possession, their mental stability. Americans care about fairness, cherish family, and stand up to defend the innocent and fight against evil. And that is exactly what donating for CURE research is, the desperate defense of the innocent in a fight against a great evil. The funds we put into research efforts today go to work to prevent our six year olds from becoming the victims of Schizophrenia as 16 year olds. Finding a CURE takes time, and money. And that’s why the ASA works to gather and direct every dollar possible into medical research to uncover it’s cause and then find a CURE for Schizophrenia. We keep researchers working, so that time won’t run out on the people we know and love. As a people, America needs and demands A CURE IN OUR LIFETIME. The American Schizophrenia Association exists for the sole purpose of making that happen by dedicating contributions from both public & private sources to solving this puzzle. When you’ve donated whatever you yourself can, amplify your contribution 10 times over just by talking about the problem and asking your friends to look us up. Seldom does anyone accomplish big things alone, and we need your help with the challenging task of finding a CURE. We are fighting against time, with the lives of 100,000 American children hanging in the balance this year as every year, and frankly we can’t be in a big enough hurry.
